Course Overview

This training is based on the ‘Anaphylaxis Campaign’s AllergyWise online training for Healthcare Professionals’ focusing on the Anaphylaxis Training for Schools, Early Years and Community Settings.

Mechanism of allergy. Vector diagram. allergy is the result of an aberrant immune response towards harmless antigens. IgE binds to receptor on mast cells, leading to degranulation of mast cells and typical allergic symptoms, such as itching or sneezing.

Aim of Qualification

To enable learners to:

  • Improve and update knowledge in managing severe allergies, including recognition of symptoms, allergy avoidance and crisis management
  • Enhance skills in the use of adrenaline injectors

Certification

The Anaphylaxis & Severe Allergies Training certificate issued by Optimum First Aid is valid for 1 year, within which time the Learner will need to re-take the qualification in order to remain qualified.
